If you’ve purchased a pair of designer shoes from Saks but want to make a return, you better act quickly. Unfortunately, they don’t give you much time to act.
So, to help you out there, we’ve explored what the returns window is, how to make a return, when to expect a refund, and much more.
Let’s take a look…
What are Saks’ Shoes Return Policy? In Short
You can return shoes to Saks up to 30 days after delivery (or purchase if purchased in-store) for a full refund or exchange excluding final sale, monogrammed, personalized, or gourmet items.
This means you can return shoes if:
- They don’t fit
- If they’re defective
- The wrong item
- Mistaken orders
- Duplicate orders
- Unwanted gifts
Can I Return Worn Shoes to Saks?
Saks stipulates that any items they sell that you want to return, including shoes, must be returned in the same condition they were received in.
This means that when you return shoes they must be:
- Unworn
- Unaltered
- With their tags on
- With their original packaging including box
- In a salable condition
In other words, they need to be in like-new condition and you must also have a receipt.
If you’ve tried them on and walked around your house in them and realized they don’t fit, you should still be ok.
However, if there are clear signs of wear you probably won’t be and Saks reserves the right to return them to you and to refuse a refund.
If the shoes turn out to be defective after a few wears (i.e. the heel comes off or the fabric rips) we would recommend reaching out to Saks at 1-877-551-SAKS (7257) as they should still replace them or offer a refund under the product warranty.
How Do You Return Shoes to Saks?
You have several options when returning shoes to Saks
Return in-store
The easiest method that will secure you a refund the fastest is to simply return the shoes to the store you bought them from. You can return them to any of Saks’ stores.
Return Using the Mail-in Process
Go to the return form or order history where you will need your order number and zip code or login details. You can then print off a return label which you can attach to your shoes and then drop them at a FedEx drop-off point.
QR Code
You can also use the QR code option by using the return form or accessing your order history and choosing to return by QR code.
Once you have your QR code, take the shoes to the FedEx or participating partner location. Present the QR code and they will take care of the rest.
Is it Free to Return Shoes to Saks?
Saks doesn’t charge a restocking fee so there’s no fee to pay for that.
However, if you return shoes beyond 14 days, they charge a $9.95 return delivery fee.
If you return on or before 14 days, return delivery is free with FedEx.
How Long Does it Take to Get a Refund from Saks?
Saks says that it can take between 10-14 business days for them to process your return which means receiving it, checking it, and making sure they’re happy to return your money.
It will then take a further 7 days for them to issue the refund so expect to wait up to 21 days until you have your money back in your account.
How Does Saks Shoe Return Policy Compare to the Competition?
To assist you if you’re thinking of buying shoes elsewhere but might want to make a return, we’ve looked at some of the other stores in the marketplace to see how their policies measure up.
We found the following:
Store | Return Window |
Amazon | 30 days |
Walmart | 90 days |
Puma | 45 days |
Nordstrom | Return any time |
Macy’s | 90 days |
Rack Room | 60 days |
Costco | Return any time |
Final Thoughts
Saks offers a fairly limited and short 30 days returns policy on the shoes it sells which is pretty much the bottom of the pile compared to the competition.
They also rather frustratingly only allow free returns up to 14 days which is likely to catch many people unawares.
However, they have a great selection of designer shoes from all the major fashion houses and their customer service is generally excellent in our experience.
