Does Subway Accept Google Pay As Payment?

If you’re at Subway and are looking to order some food shortly, then you might be wondering how you can pay for your meal.

If you have a mobile device then you may enjoy taking advantage of digital wallets such as Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or Apple Pay.

Not only are digital wallets super convenient, but they are also very secure and extremely easy to use.

But does Subway accept these modern forms of digital payment?

This post will look specifically at whether Subway accepts Google Pay within its stores, online and at its drive-thru.

Can I Pay at Subway With Google Pay?: The Short Answer

On the basis of the research we have done, unfortunately, it would seem that you cannot use Google Pay at Subway.

We carried out our research in the USA but it might be different in other countries.

We have found there can be some differences with how quickly technology is rolled out depending on the country you are in.

If you have found that Google Pay works at the Subway in your country, please let us know in the comments section.

Again, according to our research, unfortunately, Subway drive-thru does not take Google Pay.

Does the Subway App Accept Google Pay?

Unfortunately, the Subway app doesn’t currently support Google Pay.

We find this a crying shame as it is a useful tool to have at your disposal in apps and on electronic interfaces but annoyingly Subway has not yet included it.

Even though Google Pay is not currently supported at Subway, there’s still plenty of other options to pay for your food.

Here’s a summary of your other payment options:

  • Good old fashioned cash (in-store, drive-thru and curbside pickup)
  • Debit or Credit Card (in-store, drive-thru, curbside pickup and in the app)
  • Apple Pay (in-store, drive-thru, curbside pickup and in the app)
  • Subway Gift Voucher (in-store, drive-thru, curbside pickup and in the app)

Unfortunately, Subway doesn’t accept check or money orders, however.

When Will Subway Start Using Google Pay?

We couldn’t find any information about when Subway might start rolling out Google Pay, so it’s difficult to say at this time.

Google Pay is being rolled out to new stores/restaurants around the USA all the time so it’s worth checking back regularly to see if Google Pay starts being supported.

However, Subway has supported Apple Pay for some years now so you can use that instead if whoever you are with has an Apple iOS device.

Bottom Line

Whilst it’s unfortunate Subway doesn’t support Google Pay, there are still plenty of other options available to pay for your food as set out above.

If you have an Apple device then we strongly recommend you set up and use Apple Pay which is fast, secure, and super easy to use.

Hopefully, Subway will roll out Google Pay shortly and we especially hope they bring it to their app.
