If you’ve purchased underwear from Amazon such as bras, socks, briefs, or panties but you want to make a return; perhaps the underwear doesn’t fit, is poor quality or you’ve simply changed your mind, then you’ll need to get up to speed with Amazon’s underwear returns policy.

What is Amazon’s Underwear Return Policy? The Short Answer
You can return underwear to Amazon within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or a full refund of the price you paid. You can return underwear for any number of reasons which we’ll cover below.
The reasons for return include:
- If the underwear is too small/big or ill-fitting
- If you ordered by mistake
- If the order was duplicated
- An unwanted gift
- If you’ve changed your mind
- If your underwear is defective

Can You Return Used and Worn Underwear to Amazon?
Amazon’s policy is that they must receive the underwear in the same condition in which it was received which means new items must be returned unused and undamaged.
However, this doesn’t mean you can’t try it on, otherwise, how will you know whether it fits or if it’s in good working order?
You’re likely to encounter problems when there is a clear sign of use, in which case Amazon may refuse your return.
If you’re in doubt, we’d recommend speaking to someone over at Amazon’s help center to explain your situation.
However, you shouldn’t have any problem making a return provided the underwear is in good condition. If it’s developed a fault, even well-worn underwear will be fine to return and should be replaced or refunded by Amazon.
How to Return Underwear to Amazon
You can only return underwear to Amazon using the online returns process in either the app or on the website.
There’s no facility to return things to the warehouse directly yourself.
To initiate a return do this:
- Go to your Amazon account
- Go to the orders and returns section in the top right corner on desktop (on the mobile app go to your orders and click on the underwear you want to return)
- Choose return and replace items (if on mobile just click the underwear you want to return)
- Pick an option from the drop-down menu as to why you want to return the underwear (we have put a screenshot of this above menu)
- Complete the next steps regarding the reasons for the return
- Chose the method of return
- Print the return label, package your underwear up in the original package, and include the return label with your return
Does it Cost to Return Underwear to Amazon?
Amazon offers at least one free return option, usually with UPS so there should be no charge for returning your item.
However, you may not be refunded your original delivery charges if the reason for the return is the customer’s choice. For example, if you simply changed your mind, rather than the product being defective.
There is no restocking fee. Amazon generally retags returns and puts them back in the warehouse for sale without any charge to you.

How Long for Amazon to Refund for Underwear?
In our experience, it can take up to 14 working days to receive a refund from Amazon.
This refund will be credited to the card linked to your Amazon account that you paid on.
The refund can sometimes be quicker and this and sometimes slower depending on your bank or card issuer and whether it’s a busy time.
What to Do Outside the 30-Day Window?
If you’re already outside of the 30-day window, then we’d advise speaking to someone at Amazon’s help center as they may be able to extend it if the window has only just lapsed.
If the product develops a fault outside the 30-day window, then Amazon will still generally accept the return and either repair it or send out a replacement or refund.
You can also rely on the warranty or guarantee if the product comes with one.

Final Thoughts
Amazon’s 30-day return policy for underwear is nothing to write home about and is one of the shortest we looked at.
However, most people will be prepared to forgive them for the convenience of using Amazon plus free delivery on many items and a huge selection of products.
They also provide free returns in most cases.
