With a yearly revenue of $19.32 billion, BJ’s is one of the most popular wholesale stores out there.
They stock pretty much every wholesale item you could ever want including a fantastic selection of diapers in bulk packs including from brands such as:
- Huggies
- Pampers
- Berkley Jensen
- Goodnites and
- Luvs
If you’ve recently purchased diapers from BJ’s but perhaps they’re defective, not what you expected, or the wrong size, then you’ll be wanting to make a return.
Like most stores, BJ’s has a limited return window so it’s important that you act quickly if you want to secure a refund or exchange.
To offer a hand, we’ve looked into BJ’s return policy and will bring you up to speed with how long you have to make a return, how to initiate one, when to expect a refund, and much more.
Let’s dive in…
What is BJ’s Diaper Return Policy? The Short Answer
In short, BJ’s allows you to return diapers for a full refund or exchange within 12 months of purchase. You can make a return either by returning it to the store or if purchased online, using the mail-in returns process.
However, if you’ve purchased diapers using EBT (either in-store or online) then such items must be returned within 90 days and not 12 months.
BJ’s allows returns for all manner of reasons such as:
- If the diapers don’t fit
- If they’re defective in some way
- If you ordered by mistake
- If they’re the wrong product
- If it’s a duplicate order
- If you’ve changed your mind.
Almost any reason will do.
However, please note that BJ’s will not cover the cost of shipping for diapers returned due to buyer’s remorse.
Can I Return Worn Diapers to BJ’s?
BJ’s official policy is that when returning items, they must be in like new condition with accessories intact.
So, unlike other warehouses such as Costco, you won’t be able to simply open the diapers, use them for a while and then decide to return them.
However, if you open the pack and they are defective (i.e. give your baby a rash or fail to fasten etc…) you should still be ok to return them.
We recommend reaching out to BJ’s in those circumstances.
If your item returns damaged BJ’s asked that you contact them at 866-4BJS-WEB (866-425-7932).
How to Return Diapers to BJ’s?
You can either return diapers by bringing them to the member’s service desk in one of BJ’s stores or using the mail-in process which you can access by logging in.
Please note that you cannot return diapers purchased in-store using the online, mail-in returns process, you need to return them in-store.
You should note that BJ’s doesn’t offer free returns if you’ve simply changed your mind, you will need to pay for return mail in those circumstances so it may be worth returning the item in-store to save on delivery charges.
What is BJ’s Return Policy on Baby Wipes, Baby Food, Bottles, etc…?
For the other baby products that BJ’s sells such as:
- Baby wipes
- Dummies
- Baby bottles
- Formula
- Baby tech such as baby monitors
- Baby food etc…
The policy is the same and allows returns within one year as set out above.
What to Do Outside the 12-Month Returns Policy?
If the 12 months have already expired but you want to make a return, we’d suggest the following:
- Reach out to BJ’s at 866-4BJS-WEB (866-425-7932) and explain your situation, they may be able to offer an extension on the return window if the diapers are in good condition (ie. unopened and unused);
- If the diapers are defective we’d reach out to BJ’s even beyond the return window as they will still likely accept the return
- Failing that you could sell them on sites like eBay, mother and baby forums or donate them to food banks
How Does BJ’s Diaper Return Policy Hold Up?
We’ve carried out a handy marketplace assessment of how Bj’s diaper return policy holds up against the competition.
Here’s what we found:
Final Thoughts
BJ’s offers a generous 365-day return policy on the diapers and other baby products it sells making it an ideal wholesale warehouse to purchase them from.
Out of the competition we looked at only Costco’s return any time policy beat BJ’s.
However, BJ’s does not offer free returns on all returned items as they specifically exclude this where you’re returning due to buyer’s remorse.
