Surveys are a great way to make money on the side when you’re feeling the pinch at the end of the month or when you’ve got a lot on.
The problem with doing surveys is that it’s hard to tell which ones are worth your time and which ones you should swerve.
I have been using survey companies to make extra money since I was a student and have made hundreds of dollars from them over the years.
So let’s look at some of the best paid survey sites to make up to $500 per month.

1. Survey Junkie
I love Survey Junkie because it’s the easiest and most straight forward survey site out there.
At the time of writing this they are the only survey company I know with a 5⭐ rating on TrustPilot
Survey Junkie have huge following of over 5 million users and they are always the first company I turn to when I want to make money with surveys.
They work on an easy points system and you only need 1000 points, which equates to $10, to withdraw your money. This is one of the lowest thresholds I’ve seen.
You can also withdraw your earnings via PayPal for ease of use!
Even filling out your profile gets you points which is quite unique for a survey site!
You’ll earn up to $10 per survey most of the time but…..
I have heard of people earning up to $18 per hour using Survey Junkie and even as high as $75 for one survey.
There are tons of people on their TrustPilot review who have earned $50 in a week with them. That’s $200 a month for very little effort!
2. Swagbucks
Swagbucks is an awesome survey site to check out.
Their website is awesomely designed and very easy to use.
To mix it up a little, you won’t be just doing surveys and can also earn points by watching videos, playing quizzes and playing games.

You can also redeem your points for things like gift cards and Amazon vouchers.
You get a free bonus usually of $5 when you sign up but I’ve seen they’ve actually increased that to $10 for a limited time.

3. Vindale Research
Another amazing survey company is Vindale Research.
You earn money by completing surveys and panels. The “panels” are basically third party companies that Vindale refers you to and you complete surveys for them instead.
A lot of “panels” provide opportunities to enter into prize draws which you are automatically entered into.
They do advertise that you can earn $75 per survey which are usually for products for you to review, which you can keep after!
Generally the more complicated the survey, the more you earn.
Their payments are usually higher than a lot of other survey companies so they’re definitely one to consider.
You generally earn around $1 to $2 for surveys that take around 5-10 minutes to finish but I have heard of people earning up to $50 per survey
Another bonus is that you get the cash rather than points so you know exactly where you are.
4. Respondent
Respondent is a bit different to the other survey companies I have listed as it’s more of a research panel than a survey company. You may be asked to do surveys but it’s generally more focused and niche.
Basically you sign up to their panel, provide some basic details about your location and profession and you are then provided with a list of studies to join.
You might be doing surveys, be interviewed about your interests or simply just providing your opinion on a product or service you’ve used.
The greatest thing is that they pay up to $350 which is by far the best paid survey site I’ve come across for maximum side income.
For some of the activities you do need to have specialist knowledge but others anyone can join!
5. Opinion City
Another awesome survey site is Opinion City.
You’ll be doing pretty standard surveys and can earn up to $100 per survey, although I haven’t come across any that profitable when I’ve used them.

Surveys are a great way to make extra pocket money on the side. They are the ultimate side hustle in my view.
